The First Meal.

The restaurant is a Japanese rendition of Denny's (the real thing was actually not far away). It is 9:00 pm (or 21:00 as it is usually written here). The seats are all taken and we are forced to wait for ten minutes. After much discussion, this is what the author ordered: two tempura shrimp on egg and rice, topped with a drizzle of Japanese curry.

Later the streets were wandered. Convenience stores are plentiful.

The Oppressive Heat

Exiting the terminal in Tokyo airport one meets with the hot, wet breath of summer in Japan. One's clothes begin to dampen, previously tamed hair begins the inexorable process of curling.

Note: The author did not actually believe it to be very uncomfortable. But in this opinion he went against general consensus.
